illa (English: District) is an upcoming 2013 Tamil film that was written and directed by R.T. Nesan. The film was produced by R. B. Choudary and stars Mohanlal, Vijay, and Kajal Aggarwal as the lead characters.filming is set to begin in May 2013.
Production on Jilla began on March 11, 2013 with a pooja for the film, which was held at Chowdary's Chennai office. Mohanlal was confirmed as acting in the film, with Nisha Agarwal rumored to be performing in the film. Agarwal denied these rumors on Twitter, stating that she had not been approached for a film role.[ Poornima Bhagyaraj and Kajal Aggarwal were also slated to perform in the film, which director Neason described as "a Madurai-based movie".
